Ohio Rep. Tom Brinkman is scheduled to speak on the recent right-to-carry concealed firearms law pending in the Ohio legislature, and which Gov. Taft is threatening to veto.  Should Ohioans have the right to carry a concealed weapon? Join us and decide for yourself.

3/14/02 - VIDEO & DISCUSSION: Milton Friedman Debates Drug Prohibition

A screening of "The High and the Mighty: The War on Drugs" where Milton Friedman, the Nobel Prize-winning economist debates drug prohibition with former California Governor Pete Wilson. The video will be followed by a discussion led by Professor Mayer.

2/26/02 - GUEST SPEAKER: Dr. Richard Vedder, Distinguished Professor of Economics, Ohio University

Dr. Richard Vedder is Distinguished Professor of Economics and Faculty Associate of the Contemporary History Institute at Ohio University, where he has taught for over 30 years. During the Reagan Administration Dr. Vedder also served as an economist for the Joint Economic Committee of Congress.

Dr. Vedder is the author of more than 100 scholarly articles dealing with American economic history, labor issues, and matters of public policy. He has authored many books, including Out of Work: Unemployment and Government in Twentieth-Century America, and The American Economy in Historical Perspective.

Virginial Postrel, Editor for Reason Magazine and recent author of "The Future and Its Enemies: The Growing Conflict over Creativity, Enterprise, and Progress", will be speaking at the law school about this new book. She has appeared on: Crossfire, Larry King Live, the Today Show, CNN, the Washington Journal, C-SPAN, and Politically Incorrect. 9/24/98 - PANEL DISCUSSION: Clinton Impeachment

Various Professors, including Professors Mayer, Kobil, and Freeman, as well as Kent Marcus (who worked with Janet Reno in the Justice Department) and other distinguished guests, will debate the current investigation of President Clinton and explain their interpretation of "high crimes and misdemeanors."
